What is a Sugar Plum anyways? According to historians, they contain mostly sugar and NO plums! Basically, hardened sugar balls with a center. A sweet confection made by home cooks often from "scraps" - chopped nuts such as almonds, walnuts, bits of fruits such as dates, citrus peels, spices such as cardamon, cinnamon, anise and extracts of choice. All formed into a ball, coated with sugar and sometimes coconut. Large scale manufacturing had more specific ingredients, but the home cook mixed up what they had to make their own. This soap is a sweet blend of honey, orange, grapefruit, lemon peel, ginger, peppercorn.
